Vinachem Meets with Agrifields DMCC to Promote Cooperation in Fertilizers and Chemical Raw Materials

On the morning of July 29, at the headquarters of the Vietnam National Chemical Group (Vinachem), President and Chief Executive Officer Nguyen Huu Tu hosted a working session with representatives of Agrifields DMCC (UAE) and Ha Anh Import-Export Joint Stock Company to discuss opportunities for cooperation in fertilizer trading, chemical raw materials, and international market development.

Attending the meeting on behalf of Vinachem were Nguyen Huu Tu, President and CEO of the Group; Nguyen Van Luyen, Deputy General Director; and representatives of the Group’s functional departments.

The visiting delegation included Gabriel Tri Swatono, Senior Advisor of Agrifields DMCC; Najmuddin Bhavnagarwala, Chief Executive Officer of Agrifields DMCC; Tran Thi Mai Lan, Agrifields DMCC’s Commercial Representative in Vietnam; Pham Van Chien, General Director of Ha Anh Import-Export Joint Stock Company; and Truong Thuy Ninh, Deputy Manager of the Import-Export Business Department.

Expanding Cooperation in Fertilizers and Chemical Raw Materials

Welcoming the delegation, Vinachem President and CEO Nguyen Huu Tu expressed his appreciation for the participation of Agrifields DMCC and Ha Anh Import-Export Joint Stock Company. He reaffirmed that Vinachem places great importance on expanding partnerships with international companies to develop new markets, diversify supply chains, and strengthen the Group’s competitiveness.

Mr. Nguyen Huu Tu, President and CEO of Vinachem, welcomed the representatives of Agrifields DMCC and Ha Anh Import-Export Joint Stock Company.

Introducing Vinachem, Nguyen Huu Tu noted that the Group has nearly 60 years of development and currently produces more than 4 million tonnes of fertilizers annually, including over 1 million tonnes of urea, approximately 660,000 tonnes of DAP, more than 1.5 million tonnes of NPK, and a wide range of phosphate fertilizers. Vinachem has also commissioned a potassium sulfate (SOP) production line with an annual capacity of 20,000 tonnes and is studying plans to expand capacity to 40,000 tonnes per year.

In 2025, Vinachem’s fertilizer exports reached approximately USD 306 million. The Group aims to increase fertilizer export revenue to USD 1 billion by 2030 while expanding exports of other chemical products.

Nguyen Huu Tu also shared that in 2026, Fortune magazine ranked Vinachem 148th among Southeast Asia’s 500 largest companies, with revenue of approximately USD 2.4 billion and profit of around USD 150 million. He noted that this achievement provides a solid foundation for the Group to deepen cooperation with international partners.

Mr. Najmuddin Bhavnagarwala, Chief Executive Officer of Agrifields DMCC, introduced the company’s business operations.

On behalf of Agrifields DMCC, CEO Najmuddin Bhavnagarwala introduced the company as a Dubai-based enterprise specializing in fertilizer trading and chemical raw materials, with an annual trading volume of approximately 4.5 million tonnes, including phosphate rock, DAP, urea, and ammonium sulfate. He said the company operates an extensive global supply network and is seeking to expand its cooperation in Vietnam.

Mr. Gabriel Tri Swatono, Senior Advisor of Agrifields DMCC, expressed the company’s interest in cooperating with Vinachem.

Through Ha Anh Import-Export Joint Stock Company, Agrifields DMCC proposed establishing cooperation with Vinachem and its member companies in the import and export of strategic products such as urea, DAP, NPK, acids, and phosphate rock. The parties expect their total import-export turnover to reach approximately USD 50 million in 2026.

Toward a Long-Term Strategic Partnership

During the meeting, Nguyen Huu Tu highly appreciated Agrifields DMCC’s integrated business strategy, particularly its investment model covering raw material sourcing, production, and global trading. He noted that these strengths provide a favorable basis for expanding cooperation between the two sides.

Mr. Nguyen Huu Tu, President and CEO of Vinachem, expressed his hope that Agrifields DMCC and Ha Anh Import-Export Joint Stock Company will work closely with Vinachem to achieve its export goals.

Sharing the Group’s market development strategy, Nguyen Huu Tu said that following Vinachem’s business mission to India in May, the Group identified India as a highly promising market for its fertilizer products. He expressed his hope that Agrifields DMCC and Ha Anh Import-Export Joint Stock Company would work together to promote Vinachem’s exports to this market.

In addition to urea, NPK, and phosphate fertilizers, Vinachem plans to launch a new 64% DAP fertilizer product in October, creating further opportunities for cooperation.

“Between now and 2030, Vinachem aims to increase fertilizer export value by approximately USD 200 million. We hope that Agrifields DMCC and Ha Anh Import-Export Joint Stock Company will join us in achieving this goal on the basis of mutual benefit, building a long-term, sustainable partnership for shared development,” Nguyen Huu Tu emphasized.

Representing Ha Anh Import-Export Joint Stock Company, Pham Van Chien expressed his appreciation for the warm reception from Vinachem’s leadership. He voiced confidence that cooperation between Agrifields DMCC and Vinachem would create new opportunities not only in exports but also in imports, further strengthening collaboration among the parties.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Vinachem and Agrifields DMCC agreed to continue exchanging information and exploring specific cooperation opportunities in fertilizers, chemical raw materials, and investment. Both sides expressed their commitment to leveraging their respective strengths to establish a long-term, effective, and mutually beneficial partnership.
